First race disaster
First race disaster
After a bad start and first beat, I had a good downwind leg and leeward mark rounding to catch back up to mid fleet. Was just settling into a long tack on port when there was a bang and the rig came down. The repair on the bow was not strong enough and exactly the same break had happened again.
So I took the boat apart in the water and got a lift back in on a rib, which just happened to have our own James Boyd from The Daily Sail aboard. So we had a chat about blogs on the way in.
Congratulations to Mike, Adam, Simon and Ricky, who all got top ten results and got their championships off to a great start. Extra well done to Mike who got 2nd!
Due to the "Grand Prix" finishing system I actually was given a placing even though I only completed 1 lap and got rescued!
3 races scheduled today although the forecast is to be very light. Hopefully my boat will be ready as it was being repaired last night by Amac and Lochy, see picture.
