Heading up the Indian Ocean in the Volvo Ocean Race, Groupama 4 has extended her lead to 85 miles over Puma, the frontrunners now around a day away from entering the Doldrums. In attempting to extricate herself from a ridge, Banque Populaire has had to dive all the way down to 62°S. More national selections have been made for London 2012 by US Sailing Team Alphagraphics and New Zealand. With Rambler 100 winning the top spot this year, so the Atlantic Ocean Racing Series is set to take place again in 2015. Huge speeds are being knocked off in the Global Ocean Race, meanwhile the finish port has been announced. Statistically the record should be broken in this year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart, only the weather is not playing ball.
