Where next for the Volvo Ocean Race?

Tuesday April 24 2012 Author: James Boyd Location: none selected

Today CEO Knut Frostad contemplates the breakage in the Volvo Ocean Race and what might be done next time (a bigger issue is slicing campaign budgets to get more boats on the line). This morning the winds have died off Rio de Janiero with the VO70s making no more than 5 knots (and Ian Walker has a black eye...) It was a big weekend on the Solent with the Spring Series and Spring Championship fleets combined. In the Figaros' Transat AG2R there have been short term gains in the east. There was a long day on the water for many of the Olympic classes at Hyeres. The Vulcain Trophy for the D35 cats is to get underway on Lake Geneva shortly. The mid-fleet is enjoying fast conditions in the Global Ocean Race.
