The Normandy Channel Race set sail on Sunday for the doublehanded Class40s. We spoke to some of the new crew taking part. Overnight lively upwind conditions has taken its toll on seven of the 20 starters. Jorg Reichers, currently second, gives us a video guided tour to his Sam Manuard-designed Mach 40, mare. Synergy won the opening round of Audi Melges 32 racing in Italy. In the UK Poole Yacht Club came out on top at the inaugural BKA Inter Club Challenge Cup, while spring had finally arrived for the Warsash Spring Series and the RYA Olympic Classes Spring Series down in Weymouth. Alinghi won the Singapore round of the Extreme Sailing Series, while Simone Ferrarese claimed the crimson blazer at the Congressional Cup.
