Busy day at London Boat Show

Wednesday January 8 2014 Author: James Boyd Location: United Kingdom

Starting an offshore race when the forecast is showing 50-60 knots may not have been the smartest move. The Cape2Rio set sail into these conditions causing carnage in the fleet and the loss of an Angolan crewman on the Bavaria 54 Bille. SpeedDream is to build their first prototype for offshore racing, skippered by Mike Golding. Michel Desjoyeaux has found himself a new pupil, who he will be sailing with in the Transat AG2R. Big news day today with a Ben Ainslie announcement this morning at London Boat Show, followed by details of the 2014 Extreme Sailing Series in the afternoon.
