A look at the RS400 & 700 classes during the UK Nationals at Mounts Bay SC
The second part of the GUL RS classes championships at Mounts Bay SC continued with the RS400, 700 and 800s. The week opened with a very light wind Sunday and then went into a Monday that allowed only the RS400 to race. Tuesday had everyone on the shore and Wednesday finally saw all the classes out in great conditions. Unfortunately Thursday, the final day, was another strong wind day and racing was cancelled. Full results tables click here. On the right are Craig Burlton and Andrew Bonsey, No949, who finished second overall. Roger Gilbert and James Stewart chase Greg O'Brian and John Blundell. Gilbert and Stewart eventually retained their crown, O'Brian and Blundell finished in 11 place overall. No 1007, Richard Catchpole and Alan Woosey who finished at eighth overall going well on the Monday. It was not all fun, sometimes it came to grief. Giles Chipperfield is left wondering what happened to Heather when you need an extra hand and also just how he is going to get the rudder back on - and it seems like it was only yesterday they were winners!
