Michael Coxon and crew Aaron Links and Phil Hebden on Casio Seapathfinder won heat 2 of the Australian Championships with Hugh Stodart and crew Paul Schulz and Joe De Kock on Express Post finishing a close second after Express Post had a swim 1 min before the start gun.

Rag and Famish and Computer Associates were a little eager on the start line and had to restart after and individual recall was signalled from the starters boat. Clynton Wade Lehman and crew Ben Stevens and Cameron McDonald on Sunday Telegraph sailed a consistent third in the Easterly 10 knot breeze.

Early leader Trevor Barnabas and crew Trent Barnabas and Matt Felton on Omega Smeg had the top of their mast snap which caused them to retire after 2 legs of the course. The breeze tended to die out during the final leg of the race with the crews finding the breeze a challenge in the Rose Bay area at the bottom mark.

Express Post hold the lead of the series with a first in heat 1 and a second in heat 2 with Casio Seapathfinder in second and Total Recall in third after 2 races in the 6 race series.

Heat 3 will be raced this Sunday March 2 with the spectator ferry following the action.
