British test event team named

Skandia Team GBR have named the sailor who will represent them at the 2007 Olympic test event

Following the conclusion of the ISAF World Sailing Championships in Cascais, Portugal, the Royal Yachting Association’s Olympic Selection Committee has today named the sailors who will compete for Skandia Team GBR at the 2007 Olympic Test Event in Qingdao, China, next month.

Only one boat per country per class is permitted to compete at the 2007 Olympic Test Event – known officially as the ‘Good Luck Beijing 2007 Qingdao International Regatta’ – with British sailors due to compete in each of the 11 Olympic classes.

“Skandia Team GBR, from established Olympians to our younger champions, put in a great performance in Cascais,” said Chairman of the Olympic Selection Committee, Chris Atkins.

“We’ve a strong squad of dedicated sailors and are looking forward to the challenge of repeating this success in Qingdao.”

The 2007 Olympic Test Event will run from 9-24 August at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Centre.
