Brotherton and Asquith on the charge

Reunited Brit duo up to second at the 49er Europeans in Zadar

For the second race of racing a tthe 49er European Championship in Zadar, Croatia, there were lighter winds than day one.

Both fleets sailed three races in 8 to 9 knots of westerly wind.

After seven races on the top of the leaderboard remains dominated by the French, however it is another team - Morgan Lagraviere and Yann Rocherieux who have taken the lead. Leaders after day one Manu Dyen and Stephane Christidis did not enjoy such a great day and have dropped to fourth. However on the charge are the reunited British pairing of Paul Brotherton and Mark Asquith who have moved up to second just three points off the lead.

Tomorrow is the last day of qualification series, two races are scheduled. Top 25 teams will qualify for the Gold fleet. The forecast is for light wind.
