Mark LittlejohnMark Littlejohn has been guiding the competitors through the time-trials at the London Boat Show and the fastest qualifiers will compete in a 'knock out' final on Sunday at for the top prize - a Neilson holiday for two.

Competitors are getting very good at the Simulator technique and Mark expects the cut-off to be 290 seconds for the final stages this weekend.

The Laser Simulator has been used throughout last season in a competitive role, but has also proved to be an excellent teaching aid for beginners and there will be more focus in that direction in the coming season.

All Laser coaching is now under one roof and will be open to all, providing more training for general club sailors of all ages, not just the youngsters. The Laser 4.7 squad has been a great success and Mark wants to take that success into the older generations.

Winter training at Oxford SC is available for class association members of all ages and abilities on the following weekends; 19/20 and 26/27 January; 9/10 February and 2/3 March. These are for Radial and Standard rigs but check the Laser association web site for details.

Training will also be available to groups at sailing clubs and there will be 2/3 day courses available at Weymouth, open to all.
