Mitch Booth (NED) has entered the 3rd Carlsberg Hobie Tiger World Championships, to be hosted by Raffles Marina, Singapore, 10-14 February 2003. Mitch having won two Olympic medals in sailing and over 10 sailing world championships, including the past three Formula 18 World Championships on a Hobie Tiger.

Mitch has also just completed a successful record attempt on Playstation II, to break the Round Britain and Ireland Record. Mitch could arguably be described as the most successful multihull sailor ever. Yet this skipper may turn to crewing at the Carlsberg Hobie Worlds. Mitch may let his 16 year old son Taylor skipper in these worlds. Taylor would then become the youngest person to ever have skippered at a Tiger Worlds.

Taylor has been part of a successful combination with his father finishing 2nd at the Air France Hobie 16 World Championships in New Caledonia earlier this year. While Mitch skippered the boat, Taylor picked up some very valuable experience. Taylor has just started skippering a Hobie 16 and has already started to show some of skills as his father.

With Taylor and Mitch Booth there is current Hobie 16 World Champion Gavin Colby and the newly crowned North American Champion Greg Thomas. This is shaping up to be one of the hottest multihull world championships ever. Boats from selected ports are being shipped by sponsors APL/NOL. Also charter boats are available from Hobie Cat Australasia.
