Wild ride due for Skiff Pros
At the Albaria Windsurf World Festival 13 top teams from all over Europe will start in the 18ft skiff class. In the practise runs yesterday afternoon the German team Keser proved to be the most competitive winning the warm-up.
Last year's overall Champion Team Model (Switzerland) and Team Total Recall (GB) got second and third place. Behind them was Team Mettler Toledo, Medical Master Quantum and CCA.
The forecast for the first days of racing are looking good for some high speed sailing for the 18ft skiff sailors. "We had really good wind today. It would be perfect if it is like that the following days," commented Ben Clothier from the British team.
Sailors and spectators can look forward to four days of exciting races from tomrrow in the Mondello Bay.
Three further Grand Prix will take place in Europe later in the year: The German Grand Prix begins in July in Travemuende, after that the Italy Grand Prix on Lake Garda, and the Finals take place in September in Lagos, Portugal.
