RYA Sailability, in conjunction with the United Kingdom Sailing Academy (UKSA) have launched a new sail training initiative. Twenty young people are attending the three-day pilot course, which is currently running at Cowes on the Isle of Wight.

The course is specially designed for young people aged from 13 to 18, who have a disability but are sufficiently independent to be able to attend a
residential course without the support of a carer. Providing the opportunity to sail with top-class instructors the course is especially suitable for young people who have never sailed before.

Clive Clifford, RYA Sailability Chief Executive commented: "The enthusiasm of this weeks participants and their ability to quickly learn the basic arts of sailing has impressed everyone. It has continued to show that disabled sailing is an integral part of everyday sailing activities."

RYA Sailability would welcome any enquiries regarding further courses planned for later this year. For further information please contact Debbie Brown or Connie Power on 023 8062 7400 or email info@ryasailability.org
