20 International 14s took part in the Walker Trophy SuperCup held at Itchenor 21/22 September. This was the first UK open after the final summer EuroTour events in Switzerland at the St Moritz Supercup and Brunnen Open, both won by Charlie Duchesne and Archie Massey.

The format was windward leeward short course racing with gates on the beats and runs. It was a weekend of two halves, light to very light indeed on Saturday, gusty 12-18 knots on Sunday.

After 5 races on Saturday Archie Massey and George Nurton led with 5 bullets followed by Andrew Penman & Tim Bastow, Charles Stanley & Adrian Murphy all sailing Bieker 3s then the Larkins in a Bieker 2.

Sunday was much more fun. First windward marks were very hectic and on the runs run it was critical to find a clean lane through the narrow gate. On the next lap capsized boats at the leeward mark provided additional obstacles for the leaders.

Excellent practice for next month's Red Bull Tide Ride at Hayling. Adrian Murf, aiming for maximum Crescendo travellers trophy points upgraded his helm to Mark Upton Brown for the day. This pairing showed pace and reliability in the tricky conditions as did Roddy Bridge & Douglas Pattison, Dave Spragg & Andy Loukes, Victor Brellisford & Damian Ash and Andrew Penman & Tim Bastow.

Archie Massey and Greorge Nurton started the day well but their challenge faded after a broken trapeze terminal and several swims.

Adrian Murf and his selection of helms won overall and so Murf extended his lead in the Crescendo with only two scoring events remaining.

Results:
1st Charles Stanley/Mark Upton Brown & Adrian Murphy
2nd Andrew Penman & Tim Bastow
3rd Archie Massey & George Nurton
4th Roddy Bridge & Douglas Pattison
5th Dave Spragg & Andy Loukes
