Inclement weather hampers Bacardi Cup proceedings

Saturday March 13th 2010, Author: Dan Weikel, Location: United States

The threat of inclement weather and lightening put the fifth day of Star Class sailing for the Bacardi Cup on hold in Miami.

In addition to the Star Class being stymied due to weather, all other classes including Melges 20, Melges 24, Viper, and J/24 were also all cancelled for the day.

With weather on Biscyane Bay hoping to improve tomorrow, the Bacardi Cup plans to fit two Star Class races in for a full six to be included in tomorrow's final standings.

All scheduled events are looking to begin an hour earlier in order to accomodate today's postponement with Melges 20, Melges 24, Viper, and J/24 also continuing to compete.
