Nice strides, mate
Michael Coxon is a two-time winner of the JJ Giltinan Championship (2006 in Casio Seapathfinder and 2007 in Fiat) and is the current Australian and San Francisco International champion as helmsman of Thurlow Fisher Lawyers.
Last Sunday, the Australian 18 Footers League staged its annual Queen of the Harbour event and, as part of the day's activities, was sponsored by Red Claw Wines through their Pink Claw Rose brand.
The emphasis of the day was on supporting the fight against breast cancer and fund raising for BCNA (Breast Cancer Network Australia).
Coxon skippered Thurlow Fisher Lawyers in a pink singlet, pink face paint 'whiskers' and pink animal print pink leotards, which defy description, but can be seen in the photograph below.
The outfit certainly attracted plenty of attention in the rigging area but, hopefully, will not become the normal sailing attire in the 18ft Skiff fleet.
Actually, Michael is a great character and it was good to see him get into the spirit of such an important day.
Club officials were extremely happy with the success and plan on it becomming a regular part of the event in the future.
