Monday April 8th 2002, Author: James Boyd, Location: United Kingdom
The chapter has still to finish on both these stricken boats in the Atlantic.

Mike Slade's new maxi Leopard was abandoned last week when the rudder broke off. According to Falmouth Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre Mike Slade's Leopard of London is still adrift and hasn't sunk. The tugboat Sigyn rendez-voused with her on Friday evening and it is believed they managed to get a crewman on to her who has restarted the bailing process. However the weather over the weekend has not been good enough for the tug to get her more heavy weight pumping equipment on board.

Gartmore which dismasted at the end of last week was this morning 400 miles WSW of Cape Finisterre. Josh Hall and his crew are making 4-5 knots under jury rig towards Spain.
