A further two races were sailed on the fourth day of the Mistral world championships in 6-9 knots of breeze.

It was all change at the top in the men's fleet, competitors enjoyed close racing which saw the position change on multiple occasions. By the end of day two a new leader emerged, Gal Fridman of Israel clocked up a first and a second, and after being able to discard his nineteenth place from yesterday, has established a six-point lead over the current world champion Nikolas Kaklamanakis of Greece. Julien Savina of France is just two points behind Kaklamanakis in third place.

RYA Team GBR sailor Nick Dempsey moved up the ranks after scoring a ninth and tenth place, he is currently placed in fifteenth position with team mate Dom Tidey in 29th position.

In the women's fleet, the 1992 Olympic gold medallist Barbara Kendall, who has just come back to the sport after two years off, continued her good form and maintained her lead on the fleet. Scoring her second bullet of the championships, followed by a seventh place, gives her a four-point lead over Faustine Merret of France. Both Kendall and Merret have established a healthy points margin at this early stage over the rest of the fleet, as the next placed sailor, Anja Kaser of Switzerland, is eight points behind in
third place.

After an encouraging opening day, RYA Team GBR sailor Bryony Shaw has slipped down the ranks, scoring a 44th and a 25th to place her in thirteenth position overall. Team mate Natasha Sturges is rising up the scoreboard and is currently in eleventh place overall.

Racing continues through until the 15th December.
