While the serious racing is going on at the SORC in Miami, there are still an estimated 2,500 people partying and competing aboard 255 boats at the St Maarten Heinkeken Regatta in the Caribbean.
In the glamour division, James Dolan's custom Maxi 78 Sagamore won the big boat class by 1 minute and 43 seconds on corrected time. Arien van Vemde's Swan 60 Sotto Voce from Spain was second, with Irvine Laidlaw's Carrol Marine 60 Highland Fling was third by seven seconds.

In the exhibition class of former-America's Cup 12 meters, True North 1 steered by Ernst Licht was first, Stars & Stripes steered by Chris Cole was second, and True North 4 steered by Doug Mutch was third.

There were three Melges 24s, with St. Maarten's own Fritz Bus carrying off the top spot.
