Lark Nationals Preview

Lark Championship starts on Saturday, 19th August - need a boat or crew, read this!

The resurgent Lark fleet will be gathering at Weymouth SC for their Nationals and are hoping for a high turnout. The class has had some well attended open meetings this year and some totally rampant socials.

Two regular social events at the championships are the notorious theme night (prehistoric this year) and the messy Crews Union night. Two bands have been booked for the event including the now legendary Miss UK 1972. This year's sponsors, Red Square, will no doubt find their merchandise in all manner of concoctions.

For those interested in the sailing (anyone?) there will be a nine race series to provide some relief from the social whirl - and for the technical, these will involve long and short races and both line and gate starts. Previous champions have included Ian Southworth, Mark Rushall and Mike McNamara, and racing will be its usual high standard.

For those who have forgotten that they need a boat or even someone to share it with, the committee are running a registration service to help get people and boats together - always a good idea at this sort of things!
