Course record for the Middle Sea Race smashed

Tuesday October 24th 2000, Author: Andy Rice, Location: United Kingdom
Zephyrus IV has smashed the course record for the Middle Sea Race, set two years ago by the extreme Open 60 Riviera di Rimini. With a strong afterguard of Lorenzo Bortolotti and John Bertrand squeezing out every last ounce of pace from the yacht, Robert McNeil’s Maxi Turbo-Sled design (from the drawing boards of Reichel-Pugh) finished at 0349 Tuesday morning - a course record of 64 hours, 49 minutes, 57 seconds.
