Team Legato launches

Bullimore's boat goes into the water in Bristol

Tony Bullimore got Team Legato in the water on Monday 28th November. The Nigel Irens designed, former ENZA and Royal and SunAlliance cat has been extended to a length of 102 feet, in preparation for its entry in The Race. The Carbospars built rig is due to go in the boat on Wednesday 29th, with a naming ceremony at the end of the same week, during which the crew will also be announced. Bullimore has been in a race against time to finish the modifications, having only recently announced Legato's sponsorship.
Meanwhile, down in Totnes, Team Philips stayed in Dartmouth harbour over the weekend, as Britain was once again battered by storms. Pete Goss' boat has been undergoing sea trials for the past week, but decided that with 60 knots shrieking up the English Channel, discretion was by far the better part of valour - a decision mirrored across the channel as Team Adventure made the same call.
