Iain Percy has told madforsailing that his long-term aim in sailing is to form a helmsman/tactician partnership with Ben Ainslie. 'We both need to gain experience in big boat sailing,' said Percy, 'so we may not sail much together in the near future. But longer-term, the plan is for me to do the tactician's role with Ben doing the steering.'
Percy's big hope is that the talk of a British America's Cup campaign comes to fruition. 'I would love to get involved, those boats are just awesome,' he commented, but he said he would also be very likely to come back for another Olympic campaign, although whether that was in the Finn or Star was too early for him to say.

Meanwhile, Percy has been busy doing the public engagement rounds that have occupied all the Olympic team since their triumphant return from Sydney. He and Shirley Robertson went along to dig the beginnings of the foundations for the new clubhouse at Hayling Island Sailing Club earlier in the week, and on Thursday 16 November the whole Olympic sailing team was invited to meet the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
