Jez Fanstone has taken on two more British sailors for his assault on the Telstra Sydney to Hobart Race aboard the News Corporation Volvo Ocean 60. National match racing champion Andy Beadsworth and top navigator Julian Salter will be flying down to Auckland for some preliminary training before the race begins on 26th December. Salter is nominated as navigator while Irishman Justin Slattery is bowman.
Andy Beadsworth is most likely to be used for his big-boat driving skills, although he admitted to madforsailing that he knew little about his involvement in the project so far. 'It's an opportunity for me to find out more about the Volvo Ocean Race and whether I think I want to do this sort of racing or not.'

Beadsworth said he was weighing up a number of options, although his first choice would be to get involved in a British America's Cup challenge, should the rumours come to something more concrete. 'There are a lot of options at the moment, although that would be my first choice,' he commented. 'I've been speaking to other America's Cup syndicates, but I'm also working on putting a Sydney 40 programme together with Ian Walker for the Admiral's Cup next year.'

He said he was also keen to keep his hand in on the Swedish Match professional match racing circuit, with team mates likely to include his Soling middleman Richard Sydenham, Adrian Stead and Ian Walker.
