Marine footwear manufacturer Dubarry of Ireland, has announced it will be sponsoring the X-332 National Championships of Great Britain and Ireland. Dubarry will be providing a new unique perpetual trophy to the class, fittingly designed in the shape of a boot.

The Dubarry Shamrock Trophy will be awarded to the winning boat on Friday 22 August. The Dubarry race day is the second day of the four day X-332 championships being held at the Royal Southern Yacht Club in the Hamble.

The winning boat’s crew will each get a pair of Dubarry's Shamrock Gore-tex lined yachting boots, with Dubarry Clipper deck shoes for the crew of the second placed boat and Dubarry Admiral deck shoes for the crew of the third boat.

Nigel Richardson, X-332 Class Chairman commented, "we are particularly pleased to welcome Dubarry as sponsor for the Annual National Championships. The splendid cast pewter trophy of the famous Dubarry Shamrock Boot is a wonderful prize for the winning X-332 on Dubarry Race Day. Doubtless a fitting receptacle for some well deserved champagne for the winning crew! Runners up will also win top-or-the-range technical yachting boots and shoes all of which will ensure that the Dubarry Race Day will be hotly contested for the much coveted Dubarry trophies."

This is the first time that Dubarry, the world’s only dedicated performance footwear brand, has supported this regatta. The X-332 is a technical sailing class with performance yachts and committed sailors. This is the 5th National Championship Regatta and it has attracted entries from all over Europe. The Championship is expected to be an exciting event with yachts racing in and around the Solent and the Isle of Wight.
