The Bénéteau Cup was carried off by Dawson Penn's First 51 Paragon after three days racing completed this annual event on Sunday. Sixty five yachts from the world's most proliferate builder competed in three classes which encompassed top racing crews and family cruisers alike. Classes A and B enjoyed Solent courses in good breezes while Class C had the additional fun of taking part in a Treasure Hunt to Beaulieu River.

Second overall was Pete Newlands' Bénéteau 40.7 Anticipation while Fluffy, a family-crewed Figaro Solo, took third.

The Bénéteau Cup has a reputation for spectacular shoreside entertainment too with live music each night and a fancy dress theme. Sponsors North Sails and Fat Face, along with supporters Harken and SailTime added support to the event which was run by the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club.
