There are two central Solent start lines with the first signal at 10am. IRM, Mumm 30, Hunter 707, Laser SB3, Sportsboat and 1720 entries normally enjoy two races each day and the final two weekends also include the Spring Championship for these classes.
All competitors are given a warm welcome at Warsash Sailing Club's riverside base at Shore House, near the entrance to the River Hamble, where breakfast and lunch is available. Fast on-screen results can be viewed in the friendly bar and for early arrivers there's a supply of free beer or lager courtesy of Raymarine. Weekly bottle prizes are also presented to class winners, provided they're in the Club able to receive them.
Keeper prizes will be given to series winners and podium places at the prizegiving on 20 May 2005, plus the superb Raymarine Trophy for outstanding achievement. In 2004 this was presented to Jack Kelly, skipper of Moonshine, who has entered every one of the last 21Spring Series . The committee felt that Jack represented the true spirit of competition - sometimes winning, often losing, but always displaying good sportsmanship.
