Gold Medal for Percy and Mitchell

With a day to spare at the Star European Championships

Olympic gold medalist Iain Percy and crew Steve Mitchell have won the Star European Championships with a day to spare. As each team is allowed to discard one race, Percy and Mitchell will not have to take to the water on the final day of racing and will still take home a gold medal. Percy and Mitchell lead the fleet scoring one sixth two fifths and two first places in the series.

Percy commented, “We have had a quite year and only sailed a few events, so it was great to get back in the Star. We have really enjoyed every moment of sailing at this event.”
