Bol d'Or 2007

New sponsors and a new President for Lake Geneva's top regatta

Wednesday February 21st 2007, Author: Bernard Schopfer, Location: France
The Bol d’Or, the annual and largest sailing regatta on Lake Geneva - will take place this year on 16-17 June. For its 69th runner, the Organising Committee has pleasure in presenting its new partners: Mirabaud, the main sponsor, and Girard-Perregaux, the presenting sponsor.

The event will now have the unfortunate title of the ‘Bol d’Or Mirabaud, presented by Girard-Perregaux’.

The Bol d’Or Mirabaud Organisation Committee has been restructured and now has a new President in Michel Glaus. "We are happy to be associated with prestigious companies such as Mirabaud and Girard-Perregaux", Glaus comments. "This partnership will allow us to build something solid, as we share the same values and have the same wish to promote the SNG’s leading event."

Mirabaud has been involved in the Bol d’Or since 2005 as the main sponsor, and is one of the oldest banking firms in Switzerland. Mirabaud is not only involved as a financial sponsor, but also as a participant, as three boats carrying its colours will participate in the event.

Girard-Perregaux confirms its attachment to sailing by becoming the ‘presenting sponsor’ of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud. The company was created in 1791 and is one of the rare authentic Swiss watchmakers.

The 2007 edition of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud will bring together the classes which made this regatta on Lake Geneva internationally famous - the Decision 35, Ventilo M2, Psaros 40, Toucans). Other international classes are expected.
