Vice Admiral's Cup
The roll call for Class 1 includes six Farr 45s, four Swan 45s and two DK46s. No handicap system is being used for this regatta and the fleet is looking forward to some very close competition with the results being scored on a first over the line basis. Crews to watch include Keith Miller's Crackerjack and Nigel Bramwell's Hawk in the Swan 45s, newcomer Jerry Otter, fresh from numerous successes in his IMX 40 could be the boat to watch in the Farr 45s and the DK46s of Chris Brown and Nick Lutte.
Class 2 comprises the seven Farr 40s plus Peter Rogers & Roger Duckworth's Kerr 11.3. The Farr 40 class has seen a UK revival this season and for this regatta we have a good mix of old hands such as Tony de Mulder, Philip Tollhurst, David Murrin, Rob Goddard and Nick and Annie Haigh along with newcomers Marcus Vivien and Andy Greenwood.
Racing will take place between Saturday 9 July and Monday 11 July with a total of eight races scheduled on a combination of Solent and windward/leeward courses. Ashore the RCYC will be providing plenty of apres sailing fun including a dinner on the Saturday night and a BBQ on Sunday.
