Having spent the first few days of Skandia Life Cowes Week sailing in the Skandia Squad boats, Olympic Gold medallist Iain Percy leaves Cowes tomorrow to return to Los Angeles. Iain and his teammate Steve Mitchell are in training there for the Star worlds, starting on the 18th August in LA. Iain flew back to UK last week to work with Skandia and participate in the prestigious Britannia Cup race on Wednesday.

Iain leaves with financial assistance from Skandia for the start of his high profile Star campaign. Skandia sponsorship manager Tim Sewell commented, "Iain Percy is an excellent ambassador for the sport and we greatly appreciate the efforts he gone to be to be at SLCW. Whilst our main sponsorship focus is on this week, we firmly believe in supporting the UK's wealth of sailing talent where we can."

"I love being at Cowes! It's a top event and Skandia really understand how crucial sponsorship in this field is. Steve and I have worked hard on our preparation for the Star worlds and the support we have just received from Skandia is a huge bonus." Iain enthused.
