Women's Open Keelboat Championship gets a sponsor

The Women's Open Keelboat Championship is delighted to announce that Coffin Mew LLP willagain be the Championship sponsor for this year's event, taking place over 24-25 July from the Royal Southern Yacht Club, Hamble.

Coffin Mew LLP has been sponsoring the Championships, the UK’s only all women’s regatta, since it began in 2008.

Jody Slater, a founder of the Women's Open Keelboat Championship, said: "We're absolutely delighted that Coffin Mew LLP has agreed to be involved again for the third year running. Their support has been vital as the Championships have grown each year."

As one of the southern region's largest law firms, Coffin Mew LLP has strong links to the marine industry. From four offices in the Solent area the firm is ideally placed to offer the full range of legal services to businesses, organisations and private clients based in the UK and beyond.

The firm will present this year’s Championship winner with a specially designed trophy, commissioned by them for the first event in 2008.

Sally Pike, an associate lawyer with the firm, competed in WOKC 2008 and 2009. She commented: “Having taken part in the event last year I know how much all the competitors enjoyed the close racing and the unique camaraderie between the sailors both on and off the water. Coffin Mew has a strong links with the marine industry and it was great to be racing with and against some of our clients.”

The Women's Open Keelboat Championship will be hosted by the Royal Southern Yacht Club, Hamble on the weekend of 24 and 25 July 2010. All female crews are welcome and the popular frocks and flip-flops party will be taking place on the evening of Saturday 24 July in aid of Breast Cancer Care.
