The International Paint Poole Regatta 2010 is continuing to grow faster than ever before. Entries are coming in for all classes and it is anticipated that around 200 boats will be taking part in the three days of racing over the Whitsun weekend at the end of May.

Four race areas are going to be used, three in Poole bay and one in Poole harbour. The four committee boats, four race officers, eight ribs and all the various support teams will be controlled and co-ordinated by the PRO from the main race office at Parkstone Yacht Club, there will also be race offices at Poole Yacht Club, The Royal Motor Yacht Club and the Poole Quay Yacht Haven to ensure that amendments to SI’s etc reach all competitors and aid the fast processing of any protests.

During the regatta weekend local sailmakers Crusader Sails, sponsors of the Wessex Quarter Ton Championship, will be operating a pick-up and drop off sail repair service from the Poole Quay race office/marquee. Sanders Sails will be operating a similar service from Parkstone Yacht Club. Local boatbuilder Chris Somner will also be available throughout the weekend for emergency repairs. Local chandlers will be open to provide spares. Contact details for all of these services will be given to all participating boats in their race packs.

A full social programme has been organised with good sailing food, bar promotions and live music to dance to on the Saturday evening at Poole Yacht club and on Sunday evening at Parkstone Yacht Club. There will be a water taxi to help entrants get to the social functions and daily prizegivings where new software is going to be trialed to allow Results, photographs and video clips of the days racing to be displayed.

A range of Regatta clothing including Polos, Hoodies and Sweatshirts is available by following the link on the homepage of the event website. The Regattas adopted charity Toe in the Water will be receiving a donation from every item of clothing sold as well as 15% of all entry fees.

This years prize fund is getting larger in line with the size and status of the regatta with generous support by the title sponsor International Paint and also by Harken, Navimo, IPC Media and several local companies.
