America's Cup World Series Plymouth crew line-ups

Who's on and who's off the AC45s

Saturday September 10th 2011, Author: James Boyd, Location: United Kingdom

The crew lists for today at the America's Cup World Series in Plymouth have been announced. The big change is that Mitch Booth is no longer with China Team, the helm having been passed to American Tornado Olympian Charlie Ogletree. However there have been changes elsewhere in the fleet - French trimaran ace Alain Gautier has been replaced on the helm of Aleph, with Bertrand Pacé with French trimaran and America's Cup sailor Fred le Maistre now on board. Elsewhere on China Team British Finn sailor Andrew Mills is not sailing - instead British catamaran ace Will Howden is on board in the floater role.

Iain Percy was to have been sailing on Artemis in Plymouth, but isn't on today's crew list for the fleet racing. He pulled out of the Star Europeans, currently taking place in Ireland, with an ankle injury (we sympathise...) The Swedish team have former-James Spithill regular crewman Andy Feathers taking place of Julien Cressant on the bow.

No changes for Emirates Team New Zealand nor aboard the two Oracle Racing boats, although we were expecting the return of veteran trimmer Simon Daubney to Coutts' crew following his hand injury in Cascais.

For Loick Peyron on Energy Team, his crew is much the same with the exception of French Tornado and maxi-multihull ace Yann Guichard sailing as trimmer. He will take over the helm from Peyron for San Diego when Peyron goes on stand-by for a Jules Verne Trophy attempt aboard the Banque Populaire maxi tri (that was yesterday craned back into the water in Lorient after a brief refit).

With the America's Cup World Series coming to the UK, it is appropriate that the Spanish-flagged Italian Green Comm should have two Brits among their crew of Olympic sailors. On board with Vasilij Zbogar is former Oman Sail skipper Pete Cumming and Olympic Finn sailor Ed Wright. However Chris Draper's team on Team Korea have shed another ex-Finn sailor, Chris Brittle, in favour of Australian all-rounder Peter Merrington.
