Thursday February 13th 2014, Author: James Boyd, Location: Germany

Messe Bremen has announced the agenda for the 1st International Marine Publishing Summit (IMPS) to be held in Bremen, Germany, over 21-22 February.

This will be a get-together in workshop style of media professionals from the marine industry, with a programme of talks and discussions on all aspects of boating media: magazines in print or online, books, photography and more.

Simon Owen, Publishing Director of IPC Marine Media, kicks off the event with a presentation on the ‘status quo’ of the marine publishing industry.

Other speakers include Stefan Detjen, editor of Switzerland’s Wave magazine, and Arthur van’t Hof, editor of Spiegel der Zeilvaart in the Netherlands. A panel discussion on blogging featuring James Boyd of Daily Sail, Carsten Kemmling of Segelreporter and Pierre Orphanides of VSail (ex-Valencia Sailing) will also be held.

Other topics to be discussed include the use of social media, advertising, and the situation in professional photography.

IMPS 2014 will be held in the VIP Lounge (Hall 7) of Messe Bremen, coinciding with Boatfit 2014, a boat maintenance and refit fair being held in the same venue.
