Five time world champion Glenn Ashby favourite for 2009 A-Class Worlds in Lake McQuarie
Right after Christmas, action is about to start at Belmont sailing club, Lake Mc Quarie, NSW, 2 hrs north of Sydney.
28-31 December the Australian Nationals are planned as a tune- up -series, 2-9 January the Worlds are scheduled.
Lake Mc Quarie is a well known location for championships. Steady breezes between 8 and 15 knots are regular, combined with flat waters . Ideal circumstances for the lightweight high competitive A class catamarans.
A highly competitive fleet of 100 boats is expected, with many former World- and European champions . Quite unique : the complete top nine boats of the last European championship in La Baule, France will be on the starting line.
