Just five of the original ten entries remain in the race with the official retirement of Belgacom yesterday. Bertrand de Broc aboard Banque Covefi takes over fifth place as a result.

With the wind now much lighter, Loick Peyron aboard Fujifilm is currently leading the race south towards Lisbon, and has a 69 nautical miles lead over Jean Le Cam on Bonduelle.

Farther north still in the Bay of Biscay and 110 miles of the Spanish coast, Marc Guillemot aboard Biscuits La Trinitaine-Team Ethypharm is chasing the leading trio at the head of the race. Further back still Banque Covefi is enjoying 15 to 20 knots winds to fuel her efforts to get back with the leaders.

Belgacom is now back in Port-La-Foret where she met up with Karine Fauconnier's Sergio Tacchini who arrived earlier in the afternoon.
