We look at who's where among the Open 60 skippers

The Open 60 class' MMA/IMOCA Championship and will include a number of events for the class, from Grand Prix to singlehanded round the world races, each scored with a different co-efficient.

Grand Prix such as the recent event at Larmor Plage in Brittany or the Trophee de Marseille this month score with a co-efficient of x1, while a two-handed oceanic race (Transat Jacques Vabre) is x3, oceanic singlehanded (Route du Rhum) is x4, oceanic fully crewed (Courses des Phares) is x2-x4 according to the distance. The big scorer of course are the singlehanded round the world events such as the Vendee Globe and Around Alone, both of which score with a x10 co-efficient.

In terms of places the scoring is, 10 points for first, 9 points for second, etc. These points are then multiplied by the event's co-efficient.

At present the rankings are as follows:

1. Roland Jourdain 164.5 points
2. Ellen MacArthur 113 points
3. Michel Desjoyeaux 107 points
4. Mike Golding 107 points
5. Dominique Wavre 86 points
