Operations Manager required
The Operations Manager will also oversee the work of the Race Office, plus manage the operations of the company’s non-race fleet, while the Global Challenge fleet are racing.
The ideal candidate will have excellent and proven administrative and interpersonal skills, be able to manage the sailing team of up to 50 people and will be an experienced yachtsman, qualified to at least Yacht Master (offshore) level.
The position is currently held by Jeremy Troughton who will take up a new position with the Volvo Ocean Race as Race Operations Manager. Jeremy who has held the post since skippering Logica to fourth place in the 2000/1 BT Global Challenge said: “I’ve had a fantastic time at Challenge Business, worked on great projects with great people – it’s been a huge part of my life for the last five years.
“This year’s Global Challenge is in great shape and we have a great bunch of skippers – I will be watching their progress with interest and quite a bit of envy”.
