The new big beast

French trimaran guru Franck Cammas speaks to thedailysail about his 105ft Groupama III
When it comes to 60ft trimarans he has been all but unbeatable in recent seasons. Now French skipper Franck Cammas has a new beast in the 105ft Groupama III which he intends to use for record breaking including an attempt on Orange II's outrageously quick Jules Verne Trophy time non-stop around the world. In this interview (complete with subtitles!) Cammas describes why he chose a trimaran smaller than the existing generation G-Class multihulls like Orange II, his predictions for how fast the boat will be, and the safety aspect of his new tri compared to the 60 footers. This interview is 14 minutes long and 35MB in size so only suitable for viewing by those with a broadband connection.
