Back in the money15.00 BST - Wednesday.
The breeze has been building and swinging further to the south all day and Orange is flying in front of it with a reef in the mainsail and the Solent jib. Boat speed is currently hitting 28 knots and, across on the weather hull, I can see Neal McDonald driving - and no doubt loving every minute of it. His wife Lisa is looking after the main sheet ready to dump it at any moment and with them are Jason Carrington and Neil Graham.
After slipping behind record pace at the 48-hour mark, we are now back on the money and should move ahead of Lakota's time as we continue to St Kilda, now around 80 miles away. After that Neal reckons we could have an even faster run to the Shetlands with a slightly better angle, though big seas could make for a rough ride.
Lunch was pasta....er that's it for now.
