Final limp home

Jean-Luc van den heede approaches Tasmanian

Wednesday January 22nd 2003, Author: Jean-Luc van den Heede, Location: Transoceanic
Hello,

This is my last message while still singlehanded. By this time tomorrow, I shall be being towed by the Sir Hubert Wilkins for my last few miles to Hobart.

Dave Pryce, the round the world sailor, will join me on board with his survival suit so we shall be two on Adrien.

I shall concoct a celebration menu for him!

I have again made good progress as I have gained 110 miles towards my destination, still with my spinnaker boom and my Celerant Consulting staysail, which is beginning to show signs of wear... The negotiations for returning Adrien to France are also advancing well...

In short, little by little, everything is being sorted out, even if the word "mast" still gives me a big lump in the throat.

Until tomorrow
