Sailing Logic has opened its doors today to provide a one-stop shop for event organisers, yachts owners and race teams who want all the problems associated with organising events, crews and yachts to go racing taken off their hands, without the costs of employing full time staff. Alison Smith and Polly McEwen have a combined 20 years experience (working for Clipper Ventures plc, Mike Golding Yacht Racing, The Challenge Business and Noonmark Yachting) of organising international yacht racing campaigns, and all associated logistics.

Based in Hamble, Hampshire, and drawing from their extensive database of contacts, Sailing Logic can provide either a full management service or offer individual support regardless of the size of campaign. The combined experience of Alison and Polly has given them an excellent platform from which they can now deliver a professional range of services. With specific regards to yacht racing and regatta management their skills include marketing, PR & sponsorship management, accounting, crew sourcing, crew transport and accommodation, yacht shipping and delivery. Both partners also excel in event organisation, with expertise in the management and co-ordination of client care, catering and corporate hospitality, photography, IT & secretarial support, as well as, but hopefully not, Crisis Management.

Sir Robin Knox Johnston, Chairman of Clipper Ventures plc said: “Allie Smith is highly efficient and has a deep knowledge of yachts and racing. She would be an asset on any team”.

In addition their services are available to regatta and event organisers who want a professional team to either run the whole event or supplement their existing team during busy periods.

Stuart Quarrie, Race Director of Cowes Week said “I have had the pleasure of travelling to many regattas where Polly McEwen has been running the shoreside logistics. Everything from travel to accommodation and catering has always been taken care of immaculately – all I have to do is turn up and sail.”

Professional Skippers and yacht racing crews can also take advantage of their “Life Support” service and racing crew database, helping them organise their busy professional and personal lives as well a placement service for race teams and support staff.
