Steve Ravussin's brand new MOD70 Race for Water made her maiden voyage off Lorient yesterday afternoon in ideal conditions.

"We went out for several hours yesterday in ideal conditions, between 6 and 12 knots and a slight chop," said Ravussin. "This outling that allowed us to test the reliability of our concept, to tryin out different sails and enjoy the pleasure of discovering our new machine. The balance on the helm is excellent. 24 knots on one float ... the first foiling sensation ... just pure happiness!"

For this first test sail, Ravussin was joined by his team members of Race for Water, including Jean-Marc Normand, Jacques Guichard, Yann Regniau of North Sails, staff from the boatbuilders CDK and designer Vincent Lauriot Prevost (VPLP).
