Following close collaboration and months of design and development with the Camper crew, Musto has launched a new footwear collection for 2012.

The new HPX Ocean Boots with OutDry Technology were nominated for the DAME Design Award. Musto claim OutDry is set to revolutionise the performance and comfort of waterproof and breathable footwear. Bonded directly to the outer, OutDry offers a solution to many of the problems encountered with traditional free floating waterproof and breathable boot liners: no more damp sensation, no more reverse breathability, no more water penetration, no increased weight and much quicker drying.

The rubber Southern Ocean Boot is designed to be effective in the roughest of seas and withstand the demands of competitive ocean yachting. To guarantee feet stay dry, a gaiter prevents water rushing up the trouser leg and getting into the boot. The think rubber sole retains body heat whilst 100% natural rubber construction offers protection against the harshest of conditions.

Following Musto’s partnership with Camper Emirates Team New Zealand in the Volvo Ocean Race, it seemed logical to collaborate with Camper, the Palma-based footwear company, to create some footwear which was ‘Engineered by Musto’ to be functional on a boat yet have Camper styling. Available in three styles; the Replica Shoe (as worn by the crew), the Race Shoe and the hi-cut Race Bootie. Shoe uppers are fabricated from a technical low absorption quick dry material with a full internal tricot sock for warmth. A PU midsole offers cushioning and a rubber grooved outsole provides lateral stability and grip.
