2012 is lining up to be a formidable year in the UK. There is obviously the Olympics, but also heading for the UK that year is what will be the most impressive line-up of J-Class yachts ever – possibly as many as nine pointy-ended classic whoppers – for a series of regattas from Falmouth to Cowes

and the inevitable round the island, emulating the 1851 One Hundred Guineas Cup course. Racing at Louis Vuitton Trophy was canned in Auckland earlier through too much wind, while in Dubai three more races are due today at the Puma Moth Worlds.
