GBR into top 10

Bundock and Forbes consolidate lead after day four of the Tornado Worlds

Friday September 27th 2002, Author: Sasha Oswald, Location: United States
A further two races were sailed at the Tornado World Champions, and at the end of day four it was the 2000Olympic silver medallists Darren Bundock/John Forbes of Australia who held onto the lead by three points from 2002 European champions Olivier Backes/Laurent Voiron of France. Mitch Booth/Herbert Dercksen of the Netherlands are currently in the bronze medal position.

It was a good day for team GBR who are steadily moving up the overall standings. Leigh McMillan/Mark Bulkeley jump from 26th overall to tenth after being able to discard their retirement due to equipment breakage, and posting two good results on day four. Hugh Styles/Adam May also move up the rankings from 26th place overall to eleventh.

There are still two more race days to go, with racing concluding on the Saturday 28th September.Unfortunately only overall points are available at this stage as there are no web postings on individual races. Full update when race results become available. Apologies for any inconvenience.
