Fireball training

Brush up you skills at Draycote

Tuesday March 25th 2003, Author: Rachel Anning, Location: United Kingdom
The UK Fireball Association is holding a training event at Draycote Water Sailing Club on May 10th and 11th 2003

This is your chance to learn all the secrets from the best in the business. You name it, this course will cover it – how to get the best from your boat, how to solve that particular dilemma that’s been troubling you, how to hoist your spinnaker perfectly every time and how to make your boat go faster than that chap at the club who keeps beating you. By the end of the weekend you can go back to your club or the circuit and throw away the normal pecking order because it’s not going to apply this year!

The course will be run by Adam Bowers, past Fireball World Champion and now coach to the RYA Olympic 470 squad. Don’t let that intimidate you though. As anyone who has ever met Adam will tell you he couldn’t care less what standard you are as long as you’re enthusiastic and love the boat. That’s all that matters.

You might be a first time Fireballer who just wants to know where all the string goes. You might be a club sailor contemplating your first Nationals or you might be someone who wants to move up from the middle of the Nationals fleet to the front. It doesn’t matter who you are, everyone will take something away from this weekend that will make a difference to their sailing for years to come.

Throughout the weekend, Adam will be ably aided and abetted by some of the top names in Fireball sailing, so there’ll be no shortage of top tips to go around.

Places are filling up fast with 15 boats confirmed already so don’t hang about. For more details about the training weekend contact: Rachel Keeling on 020 7242 3672 or email or click here.
