Invitational 18 ft skiff race goes to the Brits with the championship proper starting tomorrow

British 18ft Skiff champion RMW Marine showed that it will certainly be the boat to beat in the Giltinan International Championship which begins on Sydney Harbour tomorrow.

Skippered by Rob Greenhalgh, RMW Marine totally dominated the Invitation race to record a 3mins 57secs win over Australian champion Tony Hannan in Maytag.

Defending champion Howie Hamlin of the United States finished a further 8secs back in third place.

Heat 1 of the championship will be sailed tomorrow (Saturday 3 January) with heats following on 4, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11 January.
