The Seiko 49er European Championship is underway in Gdynia, Poland. In light 8-10 knot winds and the boats racing on two courses, the day concluded with three boats tied for the lead: Italian brothers Pietro and Gianfranco Sibello, France’s Manu Dyen and Stephane Christidis and British former World Champion Stevie Morrison and Ben Rhodes all on 11 points after three races.

Eleven points behind the lead trio are followed by the controversial Danish Beijing Gold medallist Jonas Warrer, sailing with Soren Hansen. The points score is close behind the Danes with Chris Draper and Pete Greenhalgh holding seven and John Pink and Rick Peacock in eighth.
